Naughty boy

Guess who,s waiting for an NIP to come through the letterbox any time soon? I decided to tax the Suzuki and take it for a ride the other day. It was a nice day for a ride , until i went through a village that had just been re-surfaced. I was concentrating so hard to avoid the loose granite chippings I didn,t see the camera van until it was too late. Silly old bugger , should know better. Perhaps it,s a sign to pack up the bikes, again.

Nope....it's just a sign that the feds would rather empty your pocket than concentrate on tackling some real crime........you know....the type that actually has victims!!!!

It's easy pickings for them just to sit on their arse at the side of the road and see the coffers increase. I would question whether the camera operator was actually a copper......there have been cases of Police crown marked vehicles being operated by third parties.......and that is illegal!!!

I'm guessing it was a camera that took a pic of the back of the bike Mel?

Yeah, it was on the opposite side of the road . But i Googled the ins and outs about it and discovered that the vans take pictures through the drivers window as well as the back. Truth is Gambo , I don,t really enjoy riding these days , not in this effin country anyway, what with the lousy roads , even worse traffic and too many cameras. I got back into biking after a 16 year break for one reason only, that was to ride in Europe again. You just can,t beat riding in the Alps or the Black Forest. The roads are much much better and cameras are almost unheard of. On top of that bikers are treated with much more respect . I mean there are even Hotels with " Bikers welcome " signs , just like over here ... not.  It,s seven years since i,ve had a holiday but I doubt i will be going back to Europe. No one to go with . It,s no fun by yourself . I know i,ve done that too many times.

Just noticed you've said you are waiting for a NIP to come soon.......how do you know you're deffo gonna get one Mel?

It may never arrive! I've been flashed a number of times...and been dreading a NIP arriving for the following two weeks, but they never have.

Awww, I can understand you're pissed off about it.......but don't let the buggers beat you into giving up......coz that's exactly what they want you to do. The powers that be have no regard for motorcycles......they want us off the road I'm sure.

Only this morn I read a post on a bike forum I use......about how a bloke in the U.S. who has been diagnosed with cancer feels when he rides his bike.......how it makes his mind completely focus on the moment, and totally forget about his problems....it makes him feel free, and alive.

I can completely connect with that.........and I have to say I'm honestly in fear of the day when I can no longer physically ride my bikes. That will be the day when my life is effectively over. I personally would never make a conscious decision to stop riding before that day arrives for any reason whatsoever.

I hope you reconsider when you've calmed down and reflected on this Mel. ;)

I've seen this a lot, and questioned it, on one occasion he threatened to have me arrested for harassment and prevention him from doing his job, all i did was ask him why he wasn't wearing a police uniform........while he was standing outside of the van having a fag brake!

So it's happened to you Uggs? ??? ???

I've seen a number of vids on YouTube where people have confronted un-unifomed gatso van operators and asked why they are in a vehicle which clearly says Police and has the crowned Police emblem/shield on the side........yet they are not actually Police officers.

In one instance a bloke said he was going to report the operator for impersonating a Police Officer, which is illegal, and an imprisonable offence. The operator locked himself in the van and wouldn't come out or show his face. Why do that if he wasn't guilty. His actions just emphasised the fact he knew himself he was guilty.
