All finished , at last. The barrel polishing did not improve things but, as luck would have it , I found an old barrel in the bottom of my barrel draw. Don,t know what make it is , possibly SMK , but I fitted it anyway. It is 100mm longer than the duffer and at 12mm diameter meant I had to modify the carbon silencer to a push fit one , secured by two grub screws. It is running at 11fpe , and it is accurate enough for ratting. I had to make a trigger guard , it,s not pretty but , hey , the rats don,t give a toss what it looks like . ;) One thing that p....s me off is that this morning I remembered I had a stock, hidden in a wardrobe , that I could have used and saved my self 72.  >:( >:(
Anyway here she is, warts and all.

That other stock is from a Logun Axsor , one  that I used to have on one of my other homebuilds . It has car body filler in it to suit a smaller tube but that could easily have been removed. Oh well , too late now and besides the HW stock looks better. The rifle is bloody heavy mind. I will take the Mamba Lite off my "Mapid"  and fit it on the new rifle and fit the Pitchblack to the "Mapid". That way I will have two working night vision set ups.

I have good news and bad news . The good news is the new rifle is working very well , having tested it again today in windless conditions. Pellet on pellet. The bad news is, those 3D printed mags have all catastrophically failed, all three. They worked well for a couple of times then , suddenly none would pass a pellet through , jamming the breech. On inspection the very thin web between each chamber has broken on the exit side , which causes the pellet to tip over and jam. Every web on all three mags have broken.  I think the main reason is that , for some reason the guy decided to make them 9 shot mags instead of 8 shots , like the originals. This means the webs between each chamber are too thin. I,ve E mailed the guy and hope i get a refund. But, it,s not all bad. My mate and i have been to the smallholding today to cut down all the weeds. A big job. My mate did all the work with his strimmer. The owner turned up with his wife and young lad and was chuffed at what we,d done. He insisted on paying us in beer. 4 twelve packs each of really nice Scottish brewed Pilsner. This stuff sells for 20 a pack. Luvvly jubbly.

So 48 beers each!!!!! Hic!! ;D ;D

It's nice to be appreciated for your efforts Mel.

Bad news on the mags. From how you've explained it, I reckon you're correct about the change from 8 to 9 shot making the webs thinner is what's caused the problem.

In hindsight, if Falcon could have successfully made them a 9 shot rather than an 8 they probably would have done so from the beginning. It's probable they tried and failed, and so settled on 8 shots for reliability reasons.......so maybe the new maker should have learned from their (Falcon's) mistakes. How does it go....if it ain't broke....

Is it possible he could supply them in 8 shot.....and if he can, would have those instead of a refund?

i wounder how long it takes before the mags de-laminate
i have seen 3d printed objects that have been sanded, filled with body filler, sanded again then painted, they looked amazing

The guy who makes them has told me to return them , along with the pellets I used. He will give me a refund.
