I totally agree with what's been said there.

When (in the late 90's/early 00's) scopes became higher spec'ed and much more affordable.....I like many was drawn in by thinking bigger with more bells and whistles was better, and started buying scopes that were a world away from the 4x32, 4x40 or at most, the 3-9x40 that were the readily available fodder up until then.

But after blowing loads and loads of dough on scopes with ever increasing sized objective lenses, higher magnification, illuminated rets and so on, it struck me that once setting a scope to the specs I preferred, that I never deviated away from them.

I now prefer to buy simpler scopes that aren't encumbered by numerous bells and whistles that I'll never use.........give me a PX adjustable 6x scope with a mil-dot ret and I'm a happier, not to mention wealthier, bunny.

So yes, if manufactures would produce scopes with turrets and mil-rets calibrated for around 40 yard airgun use, not to mention suitable PX ranges and sensible magnification powers, then I for one would embrace the concept.
