My broken HW95k, and which tune do I choose?
« on: January 22, 2019, 09:10:08 PM »
Good Evening folks.

Yep my beloved HW95K has suddenly dropped from 11.6ft lbs to 5ft lbs!

This has forced my hand some what, I had been considering a tune up and now need to get it sorted.

I'd been advised to send it to Sandwell Field sports for them to work their magic. I'd spoken to them on the phone, found out how much it would cost, the only thing that was stopping me was the 18 week (at least) wait time.

So I'd looked on line to find a drop in kit I could do myself. So V-mach sold out and no clue as to when more would be available. Welsh willy kit, again a wait but this is only 25-30 days, or a Tinbum TBT kit, no waiting time.

I've also been told to send it to Paul Short, again I've spoke to Paul, he does three levels of service, the final level with a titanium piston.

Do any of you good chaps have any experience with any of these people or kits?

Many thanks

Given the time restraint , go for the Tinbum . As you say, no time delay. Just remember not to use too much grease. And, de- grease everything first. I use brake cleaner.  Just a thin smear of grease on the outside of the piston seal and a small amount around the rear of the piston skirt should do it. If you,re not sure of anything just ask. There,s plenty of folk on here ready to give advice. Good luck.

Lyn Lewington is my recommendation.......for the fitment of V-Mach or his own kits. He can also supply his own kits to fit yourself.

Evening Guy,

I've dropped a TBT kit in to my HW95k, and also reduced the piston stroke (it all came in the kit, which I found relatively easy)

So I've put it through a chrono, and it's running hot 13.5ft lbs. So do I cut the spring or heat it up and collapse a spring or two? If I do collapse a spring, does the extra weight affect the guns performance.

Cheers
