Burt Reynolds has passed away at 82
the Hooper, smokey and the bandit, cannon ball run films were a must see when i was at school (re runs of coarse)

Reynolds was a true old school style hollywood legend IMHO. 8)

Along with the films you mention, Deliverance, Mean Machine and Boogie Nights are amongst my favourites of his.

He apparently turned down a load of top roles, including playing James Bond, Han Solo and Michael Corleone in The also the leading roles in Pretty Woman, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the Die Hard franchise.

R.I.P Burton, you will be sadly missed. :(

Reynolds was an icon of my childhood.

If he was in a film it would never disappoint.

I could watch them over and over. I packed up and went to the pub.
