Hello from Cwmbran :-)
« on: March 14, 2018, 12:19:28 PM »
Hi Guys,

Hello from Cwmbran.

My daughter and I came to the Castleton Club last Monday for the first time, some of you may remember us?

We had a great time and were made very welcome by everybody that got to see or talk to us. The club is a little different to what we are used to, but variety is the spice of life and we WILL be back on a regular basis.

I'd just like to point out one important issue with Alisha, my daughter, she has a brain condition called Hydrocephalus. Most people will not know what this is, but is commonly known as 'water on the brain'. In short, she has gone through many life threatening invasive brain surgeries and she has what is known as a 'Shunt' in her head. This is basically a fragile drain for excess brain fluid to be able to drain off into her stomach.

She does not like to live her life ruled by her condition, but she is obviously restricted by it. Apart from being rushed to Hospital for critical brain surgery now and again, her condition doesn't really get in the way of basic day to day life, but her balance and coordination are very compromised.

While I (her Dad) am more than willing to help set up and pack away, please may I ask that members consider Alisha's difficulties and allow her to be excluded from setting up and packing away?

Many thanks, and thank you for a warm welcome last Monday.

Rob & Alisha.

Yep, sure did  :D

Alisha loved it, she loves smashing down targets  :D

I'm buying her a Co2 pistol tomorrow so she can use it at the club. We went to the shop today and had a feel of the pistols. As luck would have it, all the pistols she was interested in were in stock.

Thanks for a fun evening  :D

Hi, Rob and Alisha.

It's good to know that there are youngsters who are taking up the sport.

(As an aside, since I got interested in air gun shooting I've been pleasantly surprised by the number of ladies/girls that are involved. It's clearly a male-dominated sport but I've not seen any reason for that and like the idea it's open to all and ladies like Alisha just need to take part. Go for it, girl!) I packed up and went to the pub.
