Just a flleting glimpse.
« on: July 16, 2016, 06:33:33 PM »
When I go to Redbeck for ammo ,I've conditioned my self not to look in the rack where they keep new hw springers,because in that particular rack they also keep the choicest second hand springers that come their way.
 But I stupidly let my guard down for a moment as I was leaving, and now I'm day dreaming about something I saw just a glimpse of.
 I'm not too sure what it was as it was partly hidden, but all I saw was a chunky looking length of sidelever.I feel strangely drawn to this misterios lump of metal. Something maybe Diana 52 for 275-could it be worth investigating? Do we know owt about them?
I plink , therefore I am.

I'm a great believer in fate.....so if it's still there when you next return, you were meant to be together...........but if it's gone, then you and it weren't destined for each other. ;)

But......there's a caveat..........if it is still there, but it's a .177.......leave the soddin' thing there anyway!!! ::)

If you ever get a chance, get some thing like a park rifle, it has 2 aposing pistons so it's nearly recoiless, pretty sure Diana did something like this

When I was moseying about the net yesterday I swear I found some shop that had a Webley Alecto in stock for 160. It would have been one smeg of a drive to go and find out if it's worth the trip though. 212.99 at the local gun shop.

I think Whiscombe still do a twin piston rifle,probley more than I could afford though, and Diana did a twin spring pistol , I think one spring was only for balncing,i;m not really sure though.

 Diana do a recoiless rifle,but it's not twin spring,it's the airking 54, the action rides on a sled. They weigh about 11lb :(.

Is it brand new?  If so, then there is no reason to travel to check it's condition.

I've tried a recoilless Airking......and it was bloody superb!

The Diana,s employed the Giss system, one spring driving two pistons , away from each other. Lovely to shoot, buggers to work on. The 52,s and 48,s are big, heavy brutes designed like the HW80 to run at FAC levels. Go on, go for it, you know you should.
