Richard 111 found.
« on: February 04, 2013, 01:56:39 PM »
I have been watching this story with some awe and excitement, if like me, you have an interest in Archeology (I watch everythig I can find on the tv - like 'Meet the Ancestors' and 'Time team' for example) you will be astounded at this find!

Following DNA testing, there is little doubt they have discovered the remains of the last English King to have died in battle.
I for one cannot wait to see the facial reconstruction, now done using computer technology, which will give us the first accurate picture of what this King looked like. (all the paintings and depictions of the time are thought to be misleading)

The Archeologists who dealt with this find, were excited, not just because of the importance of the person whose remains were expected to be, but the fact that while they were conducting this archeological dig, this is the only time they were uncovering the remains of a person they may be able to put a name to!
Quite incredible - this has to be a 'first' in so many ways, not just a skeleton but a story to be unfolded - how he died, what he suffered from, etc, etc - it's amazing what information can be obtained from old bones.
Sorry if I sound excited, but I am!  ;)

I await further developments with anticipation.

Unfortunately the cops in your neck of the woods aren't known for being 'biker friendly' are they? or is that North Wales?
