I love to see old Rifles and Old Motorcycles refurbished and given a new lease of life!
I believe they were considered to be the LC 250/350 of their day - is that right or am I confusing it with another old brit bike?  :o

Good luck with your project - it will be special doing it with your Dad, some of my most treasured memories are bike rides I did with my late Dad - he would go off on my Honda CB175 sports and I on my CB250 K4 - and he would still pass me on a long straight deserted country road when I was flat on the tank and red lining the 250 - I don't know how he did that!  ::)

Thank you Col.  I`ll do some step by step photos, there seems to be enough interest. I`m just going to take my time with it and try and do a nice job.  ;)

Cheers Col.

Cracking Mick....glad it all turned out in your favour........remember what I said about 'fate'?  ;)
Anyway, it almost looks ready for it's MOT....jump to it boyo!!  ;) :)

If it's pre - 1960, does it need one? - I heard the Govmt were going to exempt all vehicles manufactured prior to 1960 from having the MOT test (still have to be roadworthy though!) Didn't hear any more about that though.

AFAIK, it was just a proposal....nothing has been put into place yet.

Typical of this (or any other Govm't for that matter) just full of broken promises and hot air - some would say!  ???

I reckon 'road tax' (the road fund licence) should be scrapped, and the duty added onto the cost of fuel.

That way, the more mileage you do (ie, the more you actually use the roads) the more you would be forced to pay....also, the thirstier your vehicle, the more you would be forced to pay, so the owners of the most uneconomical and polluting vehicles would automatically have to pay more.......so it would do away with the need for 'tax banding' based on emissions.

The people who do big mileages in thirsty vehicles would then pay more than the infrequent, low mileage road user who has a low polluting, economical vehicle.....which I think is only fair.

Best of all, it would make it more difficult for those who wish to sponge of society, and dodge paying road tax in the first place.

I feel it would be the fairest way all round.....what do you guys think?
