First time filling my gun.
« on: February 11, 2012, 02:03:07 PM »
Well, im typing this which means I didnt blow myself up :P

Ive just managed to successfully fill my gun. I called Gambo so he could help me do it over the phone. He told me what to do and in what order. And of course he told me what would happen if I didnt follow his instructions carefully, one of which being splitting my gun :D With a bit of confusion on my behalf on what knob did what (NO MIS-QUOTES PLEASE) I took a few photos and PM'd them to Gareth so he could clarify what was what.

Anyway cheers for that Gareth :) I can now enjoy this weather and have a shoot in my garden :)

I remember doing my first fill (oo err) quite daunting isn't it Kris, not least the prospect of gettin it wrong and ruining your pride and joy but also the injury potential too.

Congrats Kris, it gets less of a challenge the more you do it.

The damage done when a cylinder explodes is not localised Kris, they can do phenomenal damage of they do, check out the link showin the results of a scuba tank going KaBoom!

When I had a citroen saxo I had a 3l 300 bar bottle wedged behind the drivers seat ans the back seat (I was near enough sat on the bottle) people asked why was it there and not in the boot? My answer was "if it's in the boot and for some reason it explodes, the shrapnel might be slowed down by the back seat, there-fore I might only be horribly injured, if I was sat on it when it exploded,......... Instant death!"

I hate filling my rifles....i take it really slowly....it helped since ive changed my tank, as the 10L one i have now is regulated, so there is less chance of me messing it up, but its always a possibility with me being bald and all :p  ;D
