Title: Back from the wilderness of real life
Post by: AN GOF on July 18, 2017, 07:48:29 PM
Another bad penny returning to the fold.  ;)
Been away far to long, Got a job four years ago and havnt been out with the rifle since. But ive now dropped down to 32 hours a week so the .20 HW80 is long overdue a trip to one of my permissions. Kept in touch with the farms since i havnt been shooting and all`s well to return when i want. It helps that ive worked on said permissions over the years so i can just walk back in. One of them hasnt been shot over since my last visit and is overun with bunnys and woodys.
Hope theres some old faces that remember me and looking forward to meeting the new guys.
LYLT
Goffie.

Hi Simon, thanks i used to enjoy writing them, might even have to dig my old vid camera out and do a "Digging my HW80 out from mothers attic"vid.  :D
Was up your way a couple of weeks ago enroute to Exmoor on my W650 for a few days camping. The A39 is a nice ride if your not in a hurry.  8)

It's not a bad road, made 100 times worse this time of year by tourists, lacking the skill to over take a tractor or negotiate a bend at more than 20 mph  ::)

Are we talking the Atlantic Highway here?

If so, it's a road I always vow to come back and ride on the bike when I'm down in Cornwall with the family in the car (Yep, a tourist!).

Some cracking fast and flowing corners, with fantastic changes in elevation.....a real rollercoaster ride.

Yes that's the one,I have to drive 10 miles on it,on the way to work this time of year is hard work in a fully loaded diesel van,too busy to over take most of the time

I'm guessing weekends are the busiest times on it?

Are there any days/times during the summer months when it's at it's quietest? (So I can come down and have a blast unhindered!).

No it's busy all the time at the moment,September it'll be quieter when all the school holidays are over, weather will still be ok as well

Plus Cornwall council have thrown a lot of tar/chippings down at various stretches of it this year so not in the best shape atm  :-X

Double downer. :(

Why do councils do that (rhetorical question!).........as they know it'll be knackered in a blink of an eye, and then only need doing properly again within a year....so they're paying for it to be done twice.

Instead of being tightarses, it'd be cheaper to just do it properly in the very first place! ::)

Been out with the rifle of late Goffy?

They might do it in some sort of idiotic bid to slow people down not thinking bikers could come a cropper on there

Went to parents house, climed up into the attic. Found gun bag, took it outside. Opened it expecting a sea of brown ........
Still pristine, not a mark on it  ;D
