Yes, a good move.

On a slightly different, but related, tangent.........it grips my shit that manufactures outside of the U.S. offer varying warranties on their products depending on where in the world they are sold. For example.....

Buyers of BMW motorcycles in America enjoy a 3 year manufacturer's warranty, yet if you buy exactly the same bike in Europe, you only get a 2 year warranty! WHY?? Exactly the same product, made on exactly the same production line.....but the one which has cost considerably less to ship to the place of sale, not to mention the one which hasn't had any import duty paid upon it (if sold in the EU) is punished with a considerably shorter warranty than one which has been shipped to the other side of the world, and had a ton of import tax levied upon it. It just doesn't make any sense.  :o :o

It's not just bike manufacturer's that do this......European car makers play the same card too.......as do manufacturer's of other products. Grrrrrrrr. >:( >:(

Maybe the weather and road conditions in Europe are so crap that they break or prematurely age vehicles..........

Yes, 12ftlbs is rubbish.......but that Law was in place before the UK joined the EU (then the Common Market), so I feel it's highly unlikely that particular law will be changed when we leave.

Furthermore, I think we in the UK have been lucky that Brussels didn't impose the UK to fall in line with the power limits of other EU countries.

Sometimes it's better to let sleeping dogs lie.....maybe that was a case in point? ???

Some countries are allowed only 6ftlb, in some it's illegal to hunt (absolutely anything) with an airgun, yet in some Scandinavian countries there is only a FPS limit (of 750fps, IIRC)......so naturally no one there uses .177.......but uses .22 or .25 running at that same velocity!!

So, it could have gone either way.....maybe we would have been allowed more energy, but more likely it would have been taken away, rather than given. ::) (Just my personal opinion).
