The only reason I was looking at those catapults was cos I moved my catapult which lives on a shelf but unfortunately that shelf gets some sun and the rubber is starting to degrade (it's not bad.... Yet) as it turns out uv in sunlight degrades rubber bands.  I was looking on the net to see what oil rejuvenate rubber, the genral consensus is that petroleum based oils are bad and oils like vegetable and silicone oil is good but rubber will degrade no-mater what. So I started looking for replacement bands, this is where I went wrong, as there are 100's of different bands and there are compleat phd studies on slingshots and rubber bands :o at first I was loking for Barnett magnum bands then found another brand that has roughly the same power but the bands are taperd to give better around performance (tube bands) then the purists say flat bands are best, then I find out you can get different strength tube that you cut to length, I'm thinking about theraband silver tube depending on the inside diamiter of the tube and the size of the plastic bits that lock onto the steel arms of my catapult.

I bought some Barnett Magnum bands for my Black Widow, but sadly they didn't last long until the rubber deteriorated and perished, despite it being kept out of the light in it's box. :(

Rubber with a colour added to it lasts longer as it slows down the uv degrigration (carbon is added to tyre rubber to protect it from uv light as well as making it harder wearing)

Im going to order up some theraband silver tubing, the spear gun rubber looks like it might be a bit too strong :)

Just ordered the leather pouch, got it for 1.66 delivered as well as a triple band catapult (without wrist strap so it fits in the pouch) for 99p (0.99) as well as one of those needle things so when I get the Thera band tube I can thread it onto the leather sling pouch.
All for less than 4 delivered :o they have to have lost money!
