The scope is one of my many spares, a Hawke 3-9 x40 Endurance. The idea of using a paintball bottle came from the guys on the Uk Chinese airgun owners forum. There,s some seriously clever guys on there. Just think, for just a few pounds you get a 3000 psi bottle with a built in reg. It,s a no brainer. And for about 65 you can get a larger bottle. In fact i,ve been toying with the idea of putting one on my "Mapid" . Only trouble with that is it would mean doing some irreversible mods to get it to work properly because the regs are set at 85 bar. And that means opening up the ports. On second thoughts, it might be do - able .  ;) Food for thought .

My two pennorth worth.......

If you are happy with the Mapid as it is....leave it alone......coz like the saying goes....... if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You'd be gutted if it didn't work as hoped/expected after making irreversible mods to it.

baggawind, have you thought about making a pistol like this?

but instead of the fake c02 cylinder make another end cap but modified with a pipe which goes down to the original inside the pistol, the new moded end cap will also hold the bottle/adapter at the angle shown, so if you wanted to you can use a 12g co2 cartridge instead of the air tank.
between the reg on the bottle and the valve in the gun it should be tune-able to just under 6 foot pounds, with a 14 inch barrel with moderator and the air tank at the angle shown it should be a nice balance and make a fantastic long range plinking pistol (tuned to just under 6 foot pounds (400 fps with 15.9 grain pellets)
what do you think?
hammerli already think its a good idea to have the tank at that angle
