Another project
« on: August 19, 2017, 02:32:27 PM »
Some of you may recall me making a strange looking little carbine a few months back. Well, the guy I sold it to ( at a loss ) says it,s quickly become one of his favourite rifles ( he has ten ). It,s only doing 8FPE but it doesn,t stop him knocking off pigeons at 40 yards plus. He showed it to my mate, Slaphead, the one who hunts with pistols, and , not surprisingly , he wants one. So the last couple of days have been spent in the shed making lots of aluminium swarf. The main receiver is just about finished and the bottle has been ordered so now I have to make the internals. I have to find a Crosman pistol grip frame from somewhere which could turn out to be the main stumbling block. I,ll probably fit a piece of Chinky barrel to start with , just to get it running. Watch this space.  ;)

until mid 1920's it was pink for boys and blue for girls

The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink , being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.

with regards to boys wearing dresses..........they still do in Scotland ::) :P

No colours this time folks. Unfortunately the father of the lad who did the anodizing, a very good friend of mine , died suddenly a couple of weeks back and I think it would be insensitive of me to ask , at this moment in time , for him to do any work for me. His dad also used to fill my bottles for me. I think the son will carry on the business but i,ll leave it for now.
As for the Blue Meanie, i,ve ordered an S200 CZ barrel to replace the the existing one as i,m still not really happy it. Sub half inch groups at 45 yards is what i,m after.
