Welsh TT Races.
« on: November 21, 2017, 08:21:08 PM »
We may have been promised and then denied the Circuit of Wales.......but instead, yesterday it was revealed that in 2018, Wales will host proper Road Racing again, exactly like at the Isle of Man TT. 8) 8)

This isn't some 'We hope to'....or ''are looking into the possibilities' type idea.....this is happening, and will take place on the 4th and 5th of August 2018, on a mix of public and MOD roads at Eppynt, nr Sennybridge, in the Brecon Beacons.

All the groundwork and hurdles have already been sorted..........Gary Thompson, the TT Clerk of the Course will be in control, and it's being organised by the same guys who do the Aberdare Road Races, along with Phil Morris Racing. Steve Plater is the Safety and Rider Liaison rep, North One TV (who already cover the TT and do all the Guy Martin programmes)....the list goes on and on and on.

Loads of World Class riders have already signed up to race, amongst them Dean Harrison, Michael Rutter, Peter Hickman...etc etc

Check out the website, and have a look at the vids which includes onboard footage of Steve Plater lapping the 5.25 mile circuit, and interviews with the organisers and riders>>>>

I'm Sooooooooo excited about this.....I'm absolutely buzzing, and will be visiting their stand up at the NEC on Friday to find out more. 8)

Tiz........I'm gutted!  :'(

Seems like the jobsworths at the ACU stuck their noses in (job creation scheme....trying to justify their positions!) and put in  a number or conditions which need to be fulfilled before they'll sanction the races and rubber stamp them off. Unfortunately not all of those conditions can be met by the organisers before the race date........so this years meeting has been cancelled. It hasn't been mentioned what those special conditions are, but I'd have a guess at what they might be though! ::)

The organisers have stated the special conditions will be in place for the race to be held in 2019. 8)

Got my fingers crossed........AND I'll be holding my breath, that it does!!! :)
