You can run unsupported OS, I ran XP for a few years after they stopped support for that.

It depends what you currently have as to the best way forward.

I recently cleaned up my current laptop, which is around 6 years old but was a very good laptop when I bought it Intel i3 dual core 2.4ghz processor with 6gb ram. And a 1tb hdd. I got rid of a lot of rubbish which wasnít required, defragged the hdd and ran hitman pro to fix and remove any dodgy bits.

Now I can get it to edit 2.7k video footage and itís as fast as you like running Firefox for browsing forums, YouTube etc.

Looking to set up a dedicated video editing machine as I want to edit 4K which my new camera can handle but my laptop is at max coping with the 2.7k footage so wonít even try the 4K on it. Iím looking at 6 core processor running between 3.5-4ghz with a decent 2-4gb dedicated graphics card (Nvidea 1060Ti) 16 or 32gb ram, 512gb SSD and 3TB HDD. Used for browsing etc it would be way overkill but forvideo editing its about right.

If you have not already resolved this let me know the specs you currently have and Iíll let you know what Iíd do,

Well lads I thought Iíd post a thread to see where everyone has been/is going on holiday?

Iíll start off, back in March we went out to Westendorf, Austria.

As some of you will know I am a snowboarder, been doing it a long time but up till this year have only been abroad once as my wife doesnít ski/snowboard so it wouldnít really have been fair.

This year it was time to change her car, to my amazement she decided she didnít want to change the car, she really likes it and after a quick check I realised itís only done 30k.

So I suggested we spend the money on a nice trip, a holiday. Some suggestions were to go watch a MotoGP race, we particularly liked the idea of COTA, Austin, TX but a week is simply not enough to take in Austin and the race.

I left it to Louise to have a think and let me know if there was anything she really wanted to see/do. After about a week she came to me and said ĎI think Iíd like to learn to skií so I started checking out to see where we could go and she could get ski lessons and I could go ride my board, eventually settling on Westendorf. It was awesome, I said before we went out it didnít matter if she didnít take to skiing long term as long as she enjoyed the week away.

It went better than I could ever have imagined, Lou loved skiing, her instructor was brilliant and she really made some good progress. So much so that we have already booked to go out to Zell Am See, Austria next February with 6 of our friends. Canít wait it will be brilliant, Lou will be at ski Schule most of the week but we will be altogether in the evenings and will meeet some lunchtimes. For the more advanced in the group the Kitzstienhorn at Kaprun has some of the best off piste free ride terrain in Austria and I personally canít wait.

So what have you guys been up to, or what have you planned?
