General Airgun Chat / New PCP questions
« Last post by Steviewhitt on January 22, 2019, 09:40:37 PM »
Evening,

Well if you've read my post about my journey, you'll know my springer hw95k has suddenly drop in power. So I've brought a pcp, a Walther Rotex RM8. Some say it's heavy, some say the bolt is clunky. I like the feel of it when it's shouldered, I like the bolt action. (I learned how to shoot with rim fire .22 bolt action rifles)

Does any one own a RM8, which pellets are worth looking at, or I'm I just considering the same pellets as my HW95k?

I have yet to buy a dive bottle to refill it, any suggestions on the size bottle I should buy and kit I need for it.

The one thing I have found out so far is, you can certainly go through pellets quickly.

Thanks

Good Evening folks.

Yep my beloved HW95K has suddenly dropped from 11.6ft lbs to 5ft lbs!

This has forced my hand some what, I had been considering a tune up and now need to get it sorted.

I'd been advised to send it to Sandwell Field sports for them to work their magic. I'd spoken to them on the phone, found out how much it would cost, the only thing that was stopping me was the 18 week (at least) wait time.

So I'd looked on line to find a drop in kit I could do myself. So V-mach sold out and no clue as to when more would be available. Welsh willy kit, again a wait but this is only 25-30 days, or a Tinbum TBT kit, no waiting time.

I've also been told to send it to Paul Short, again I've spoke to Paul, he does three levels of service, the final level with a titanium piston.

Do any of you good chaps have any experience with any of these people or kits?

Many thanks

General Airgun Chat / Re: So my journey begins

Hello All,

I'm so sorry for not posting or even contributing to the forum for nearly a year. Life has a habit of getting in the way.

So what's been happening on the shooting front. Well I have some how found some time to shoot, not as often as I'd like but beggars can't be choosers.

My HW95k has eventually found the pellet it likes (yes I have said that before, but I definitely have now, Daystate sovereigns) all was good in the world, until last Friday.
Went to the range, grouping nice and consistent. Then all of a sudden, it sounded louder. I noticed the pellets hitting lower but thought nothing of it, I just but it down to the temperature. New target put out and couldn't even hit it. So I checked all the sight mounting bolts, they were fine. So off in to the range shop. Jim (the owner) shot a few and also said the pellets were falling low, so we chrono'd my gun. It had dropped from 11.6ft Lbs to 5ft Lbs!

So I know have a broken hw95K, but I had promised myself a PCP later this year, I brought it earlier than I expected.

BSA did it with the Gold Star years ago although not a gas ram. But you could buy a gas ram unit to replace the spring. I converted a friend,s to a gas ram and it was a delight to shoot.

Shooting Shows and Game Fairs / 2019 Shot Show Rumors from the GTA Forum
« Last post by 21grains on January 22, 2019, 07:08:24 AM »

The rumors I have found on the web are, GAMO will unveil new models in the rifle category during the four-day event, JSA has a new rifle the Hawke that will debut, and "HatsanUSA announced a new PCP airgun called the Vectis. This air rifle is a “modern take on an old classic” with its unique lever action system.
