the snap on van came in to the car park near the workshop, the thing was the workshop manager said we was not allowed to spend more than 5 mins on the van getting tools/paying, then there was about 10 of us all trying to get on the van at the same time, so we would get on the van, have a quick look at the tools then on the way off, give the the snap on man some money as we said put £xx on my account, then we had to be back in the workshop, this went on for some time until one trainee asked how much have i got left to pay? the snapon man looked on his computer at the account and said you have £250 left to pay, the trainee said, according to my records it should be about £100!, i did the same, snap on said some thing like £190 to pay, it should have been about £20, after that we started paying by card, only £5 a time, the snapon man complained like mad as it cost him £2.50 per transaction using a card (we knew this, thats one of the reasons why we did it, the other was to get a receipt) we then told every company we had friends in, who used the same snapon van, it was about this time i was fired (still have no idea why, but think it was due to ill health/back problems) a few months later i got a phone call from the snapon man asking for me to pay the outstanding balance, which was about £150 he said he had been very patient and would except me paying it of week by week, i reminded him of my suspicions of what he did, he never called me again (this was over 7 years ago) it was 2 years after the phone call i heard a rumour that at the time he called me he was in financial troubles and had to sell the franchise! some one else is now running that snapon van
