Tricky one this,I've heard the larger organisations and magazines are preparing a reply to situation,my thoughts are it'll only make genuine enthusiasts part with money, the very few idiots that cause problems won't bother getting a licence anyways

I think you're right, Shakey.

And I think a lot of airgunners may opt to go for FAC instead and there'd end up being more more powerful weapons in circulation.

After seeing what happend in Scotland and the humongous cock up called air gun licensing, any mp who dares tag there name to it, would be committing political suicide

If those airguns were licenced, would it have stopped those 'accidental' situations? No, it wouldn't have.

I agree that only law abiding owners would bother to shell-out and get a licence.........and those who intend to do wrong with them will not.

I've said it before, and will say it again...........seeing as there already too many airguns already in circulation for licencing to have the desired effect, IMHO it would be MUCH better to restrict the sale of ammo (rather than the guns themselves) to valid licence holders. After all, what use is an airgun if you can't get ammo for it?

IF there were to be tighter controls that would be an excellent way forward.

Ieazo, is that how much a licence costs north of the border? 1 per year?
