This is such a great forum.

Thank You....... it's the members which 'make' a forum.......so all give yerselves a well deserved pat on the back. ;)

Again, the Air Arms rifles were originally designed as 12ftlb'ers (as are most British made airguns), and become a bit harsh when FAC'd. They are OK up to about 20ftlb, but I've used a few around the 24-26ftlb mark, and they were all 'orrible. Such a strong hammer spring was needed to produce that power that an unusually high amount of effort was need to cock and cycle the bolt, and when it was fired the hammer smacked into the firing valve/block assembly so hard and noisily that it rattled my fillings and perforated my eardrums!!! YUK! Tuned down to about 18 ftlbs made it a much nicer rifle to use in every respect.

Some people take the Jeremy Clarkson approach to FAC airguns, and want as much POWERRRRR as they can get.....but speaking from experience, most is rarely the best..........as Goldilocks discovered........the middle ground is usually 'Just Right'!! ;)

Got my HW80 back at last and have to say that it sounds a million dollars. Apparently it was pretty knackered inside, so definitely the right decision to get it seen to.

Anyway, my collection is complete...for now  ;)

Well.....you already have a lovely collection of springers........time to add a few PCP's to it. ;)

*You know it makes sense.

* To be said in a 'Del Boy' stylee.

One question Richard.....is there any particular reason why you have not mounted the Stutzen in the same way on the rack as the other three rifles (with the rear hook just behind the trigger guard)? ???

Yes, that was bugging me too. The problem is that positioned like the others, the Stutzen points up at an angle whereas the others are level (I know, what a calamity). I've solved the 'issue' to an extent by packing the sling under the pistol grip. How's this:

Ahhhh, so it's an OCD issue then! ;D

Have you considered discreetly packing the pistol grip hook of the rack with some foam so the Stutzen sits level?

Even if you didn't do that, it still looks better (more symmetrical), as at least all the trigger/trigger guards are now lined up one above the other now. ;)
