If you were restricted to just 12ftlbs, wouldn't you prefer to hunt with a PCP Franky? ???

I think the hw 50 is similar to hw99s,I've had a 99 and it was effective as a hunting tool.
I plink , therefore I am.

The HW50s in the test is the same as the UK HW99s.

The "S" means the Rekord trigger is fitted. The MK11 has the Perfekt trigger like the early HW50.

Sorry a little late But after re-reading Test the HW50 only Exceeds 12flb with Non-Lead Pellet's in this Test, Strange  but do others see this in 12flb Land w/Your Guns w/Non-Lead Pellet's going HOT (over 12flb).....Franky

EL-Gamo Raptor 9.7gr  13.75 flb
H&N FTT Green  10.0gr  13.46 flb
All lead Pellets   10.6 to 11.8 flb in this Test in a HW50 .22/5,5

This is a BIG difference in a 12flb Gun, put a Warning on Tin of Tin Pellets.....Or "Just" make a new Law 14 flb for no Problems with the Man w/new Lead .22s. Cleaner Kills,Flat'er Shot's
H&N Cuda's.....12flb--506fps   14flb--547fps
RWS SD     .....12--    610       14--   659
CP             .....12--    615       14--   664
RWS Hobby.....12--    674       14--   728
JSB Heavy  .....12--    546       14--   590
only 40--50 fps difference
Just a Thought.....Not Bustin Them.....Franky

I get what you're saying Franky....but what they are failing to convey is those tests were conducted with a relatively low powered spring airgun.....because that's what will show the biggest differences in velocity/power when using lightweight ammo.

If they chose to test with a higher powered PCP, I'd wager the results would be MUCH different.

I'd suggest it's all a money making marketing ploy to entice people to spend their money in the hope of getting more power from their airguns.
