Quick release mounts
« on: June 05, 2017, 03:03:10 PM »
I'm looking to move to quick release mounts on my HW110 so I can swap between scope and NV Field Master.

However, the HW110 has a RIS rail instead of a Weaver rail for some reason.

I've found a one piece mount for the scope but the Field Master is built with a Weaver mount at it's core, something that can't be swapped out easily.

So I'm looking for a RIS to Weaver adaptor mount but all I can find is the 20mm long 2 piece type, not 1, long style single mount.

Can anybody offer any suggestions?

Cheers, Nic.

Hi Nic, what is an RIS rail, i,ve never heard of one. My 110, takes weaver mounts OK . So whats the difference ?
I haven,t got mine back yet. I had a pm from a guy on another forum asking me about the low power issue. Apparently, a couple of his mates also have rifles that are down on power. And, to make things worse, Hull Cartridge sent back readouts stating the rifles were running at 11.3 fpe. I,ve also heard from a good friend in the trade that the 110,s are not actually made by Weihrauch but by Armex , using some parts, the reg in particular, from a Walther rm8 !! Oh well, when I eventually get mine back I will check the power at the dealers. If it still reads low on my chrono i,ll get my money back.

Nic, what sort of ammo do you use with your "110"?

If they're little plastic things it might actually be an airsoft gun.  ;)

A RIS (Rifle interface System) rail is a Weaver rail.

The HW110 has a 20mm RIS or Weaver as standard, not the typical 11mm Dovetail.

Cheers guys, but as said, I've found 2 piece mounts; I'm looking for a single / long mount.

I used to have one, with lever release, about 100mm. The only 1 piece mount I've found since is only 60mm long. It's just too short.

Errrrrrm.....to chuck a fly in the ointment I think you'll struggle to find a suitable one piece mount.

Why............as the Weaver system has 'crosspins' in each mount that fit into the slots going across the rails, and so act as recoil arresters, which then negate the need to have the super strong clamping area of a one piece mount.

See what I mean..........does my thinking make any sense/logic?
