Morning,

Has anyone tried the sample pellet pack from Pellpax? If so is it worth considering getting?

Thanks

Steve

I've never tried one I usually stick to air arms diabolo or jsb exact in my pcp's answer falcon accuracy plus in the springers after testing loads of different types of pellets  :)

Thanks Guys,

It,s a weirhauch 95 in .22.

To start with as it's a new gun I will be shooting on a range,  which goes out to 40 yards.

Then once I'm happy with how I and the gun shoots, I'll hopefully move onto hunting.

Once again thanks.
Steve

Thanks Franky,

I've an idea now where to start.

The pellet swap is a good idea too, so when I'm back from my holiday, something else to look at doing.

Once again thanks

Steve

RWS Supersome are worth a look, but tbh I shoot AA Field Diabolo's 16gr in .22 and a decent ballistic co-efficient.

I use them out of everything, my springers, PCP's including the FAC Daystate.

You'd probably be best trying the 5.51 head size though 5.52's go well through my HW97k. It used to be a sticker on the underside of the AA tin that told you head size, surprisingly most of my local shops didn't realise this!
Springers:- SMK VXS19 - 18 GRT3 trigger & HW97k V-Glide
PCP's:- Uncle Barry's Daystate Mk3 (FAC), BSA Superten & AA S510
FAC :- Anschutz 1417 .22LR, CZ 452 .17HMR & Tikka T3 .223 1:8
Shotguns:- 12 Gauge Bettinsoli Xtrail O/U & Beretta A302 Semi-Auto

No I've never tried the Pellpax sample pack, as the last time I'd looked the selection was largely made up of the cheaper brands of pellets, rather than the more expensive 'serious' brands most likely to give the best results. I'm guessing it was done that way to maximise profit margins, rather than with the prime objective of being helpful to the airgun shooter. ::) Also, the small amounts of each pellet (20 IIRC) is barely enough to do proper testing, as some people reckon their rifles need at least 40 or 50 new pellets through it to 'lead-up' and condition the bore before full accuracy is achieved.

Whether the selection and quantity of ammo contained in the sample pack has now changed, I don't know.....but I would suggest there is a handful of pellet brands which would be contenders for Top Ammo in your 95 (and in most other spring airguns too), those are......

RWS Superdomes, H&N Field Target Trophy, Falcon Accuracy Plus, Bisley Long Range Gold, Bisley Superfield.

Other's may suggest some other brands, but off the top of my head, the five mentioned above each have a weight better suited to spring rifles

Ok so I got my gun today, and then I got some pellets.

JSB Match Diabolo Exact Jumbo's! I did say I'd been recommended the pellets you have all said. He said they do stock the RWS and the H&N pellets, but at the moment they only had .177 in, they were waiting on an order with new stock. I'll see how they shoot and try a few more brands and see how they compare.

Afternoon,

So far I have used JSB match diabolo exact jumbo's. RWS superdomes and I'm about to start a tin of Bisley long range gold's. I have kept aside 50 pellets from each tin. I then hope to try H&N field taregt trophy, AA field diabolo's and Falcon accuracy plus and save 50 from each of those tins.

Then I plan to do a comparisions to see which (if any) my gun prefers Do I pull the barrel through after each 50 or just shoot them without cleaning the barrel?
