I can vouch for the QB78 as being a cracking cheapo rifle, as I've got two of the Deluxe versions.

One is standard, the other is heavily modified, mainly with T.R. Robb tuning goodies, and I've shortened and recrowned the barrel so it isn't any longer than standard with a silencer fitted.

Once fettled, it's a surprisingly accurate and refined rifle to shoot.

Highly recommended.  :)

I, ve just taken the little hybrid to the farm to do a bit of zeroing. The idea was to check out my AAs410 and the "Mapid". I set up inside one of the turkey barns but, unfortunately , the wind was still blowing a bit strong , even at ground level. Nevertheless I carried on, firstly checking the 410 at 33 yards - spot on. Then the "Mapid" at 28 yards - good enough. Then, just for a laugh, I tried out the SMK. Well, what a shock, the little bugger was putting down groups equal to if not better than the others, using H&N sniper Mediums.  I wasn,t expecting that. And all for just 78. Result  :)

I found another 78 at the Boinger bash at Mick Fuirniss's farm at Nuneaton earlier this year, It was only 25 with 13 cart's!!

It's spot on too, I rung the bell of the old iron Bell target loads with it!!!

No idea of muzlle energy but I presume it's not much over 6ft lbs!!  :o

Still have the bottom one of these, It was doing 14ft lbs when I acquired it  >:( I chopped the hammer spring until it was closer to 11, In summer too so there would be no surprises if the weather suddenly got warmer!!

I forgot that I had another 78!!

I bought this years ago for 20, A mate wanted it to 'do up'!! I let him have it for 20, Fast forward a few years He asked me to redo the stock as it was pants!!

I refinished it with stain and lacquer, When it was put back together I took quite a shine to it!!, I asked him to let me know if he decided to sell it!!

He fitted the bling, Had the barrel carbined and tuned it to 11.2ft lbs with Exacts himself, He phoned me and told me to come and get it, Trouble was that he wouldn't take owt for it  :(

I knew he was after a steel Apel mount, I had one so ending up we did a swap!!

I removed the brass muzzle weight and fitted a HW mod, It's now really nice (And quiet!!)..

Oh, I fitted a black ball bolt that i'd had stashed for a few year too!!

I also tried it on a couple more stocks that I had left over from when I used to 'Play' with these guns!!
