That's right........top gun is what we in the UK call the RWS 45, the bottom gun is what we Brits know as the Original 45.

There is also the nineties RWS 45 to confuse the unsuspecting. This one has no cross pin in the stock but same shape.

In fact it is Diana 34 action slipped in to a Retro style 45 stock.

Well remembered Mick. ;) Applaud issued.

It was unsurprisingly called the .......... RWS 34

It had a carbine length barrel which was screw cut for the supplied silencer. It also came in an RWS hard case, exactly the same as the ones the RWS Excalibre and Rapier came in.

I was very temped to buy one brand new, but was swayed by a tuned HW95 in a custom walnut stock instead.

I've still got the 95, but do now wish I could have afforded the 34 as well. Yeah yeah, call me greedy!!!

Hi all

I've a couple of Original mod45's and an action (Really ought to look for a stock sometime!!)
The first one is .177cal and is a Jubilaum model but someone nicked the panels of the factory and the badge out of the stock before I acquired it  :(

This one is .22cal, Was given it as a freebie by a workmate, He'd crammed a huuuuge Ox mainspring in about twenty years ago then it wouldn't latch on to the sear...

When I stripped it I cound a massive nut and a couple of big washers in the piston!! The thing was dripping in Copperslip grease, I only found the 'extra' bits when I washed the gungy copperslip grease out!  :o

The action, Nut and washers!!

And an Original mod35, Wanted one of these badly when I was a school and a mate showed me his!! I'd forgotten until someone put this up for sale on The Airgun Forum!! Couldn't type fast enough!!  ;D

John  :)

Oooh lovely.

I note the the 35 stock differs from the RWS45 stock in as much as the forend is much boxier on the 45, akin to the forend of an early HW80.

L - r. .22, .20, .177

The very early (late 79/early 80s) had a slightly different , modified (longer) safety catch some with a 'H' on the end.

Its the Original 35s stock that is similar to the RWS 45 stock,I think the Original 45 stock design was "Diana's" take on of a HW35s stock slightly modernised what with the plain lines & ambi style cheek piece less butt.Remember the 45 was before the mighty HW80 & the MK1 80 stock is like a big FWB Sport stock in shape.
