Franky your RWS 45 would have probably been the same as our (UK) "Original " 45 branded version at that time, same action with same plain stock .We got the RWS 45 branded version in 1984 which came with new stock which was like the Original 35s stock with the same action as the 45.

Most Original/RWS have the date of manufacture (month & year) stamped in very small numbers on the action on the l/h side between the stock and the scope rail in the case of rifles.

There was also a choice of a Walnut stock with a checkered pistol grip for the USA RWS 45,very rare over here i believe.

Yep, the easy way to differentiate the RWS 45 from the Original 45 models (here in the UK at least) is the RWS stock has a checkered pistol grip, whereas the Original doesn't. Same action fitted into different stocks.

RWS >>

Original >>

Also, there is a 'cross pin' going through the stocks directly above the trigger on both models.......though very early examples don't have it, IIRC.

The 35 has 3 round steel Balls, that hold the Piston back under Load. Trigger not bad thou.....Franky

Yep both are RWS 45 models.

Bottom 45 is the Original 45 as sold in the UK yours is the same rifle with RWS stamped on the breach for USA.

The top 45 is the  same action in a 35s style stock which in the UK was marketed by RWS who were the distributor at the time ,it was stamped RWS on the cylinder & came here in 1984.

The model continued in to the nineties again with a stock upgrade & a bit of checkering. :)
