That's what I wanted to hear  ;D they mostly get rave reviews,I'll get mr tbt to tune mine if I get one as he's only round the corner now, hopefully I can find a 2nd hand one that's already been tuned though

 :)

 I 've a 98 177 , it's a fantastic bit of kit. It handles superb.

The least hold sensitive springer I've ever had the good fortune of using. I sometimes favour it over my 177 tx.

They respond  well to a basic home fettle. I fitted a tinbum short stroke in mine , just love it.

I've found with my hw 95 22, that the 2 best pellets for accuracy are jsb 15.9 grn and falcon accuracy 13.43grn.

The lighter pellets tend to let the gun recoil in a more refined way and the 15.9 feel lumpy in comparison.

12flb Springers don't handle 15.9 as good as 13-14gr. H&N covers 12flb Springers  very well for Hunting
JSB has 13 and 14gr RN for Hunting w/Springers.....Franky

I already own a tuned .177 tx200hc which will be hard to beat, the adjustable stock makes it more attractive as it'll be a target rifle,I just fancied a break barrel springer for a change,a silencer isn't needed as once I've ripped it apart and tuned it,it should be quiet enough.ive always liked 97's but being a southpaw means I always end up with the fugly thumbhole stock

Hi Simon

You probably already know this but the 98 is the same as a 95 exceptions are, the adjustable stock, which is nice.
The barrel is heavier but is not threaded for a silencer. Doesn't come with a nice HW silencer, worth about 50 either.
Hard compromise that!
Oh the 98 costs more to buy.

My suggestion would be, buy a 97 instead.

Springers in .22 shoot better than .177
though I do like my .177 97.

I'm seriously considering adding an hw98 to my cupboard,it'll be .177 obviously
Just wondering if anybody on here owns one? Or has shot one for an opinion
If you know of one for sale even better  ;D
